You may have seen “Snakes in the City”, on TV. That South African guy who’s covered in tattoos and his lady with pink hair, going around the communities to capture snakes that have found their way into people’s homes and businesses.
Little did we know that we have such guys here too – we learned of this when we visited Uganda Reptiles Center in Entebbe. A large number of their reptile “tenants” were reportedly captured from homes and premises within the Entebbe locality – you will be quite captivated by some of the tales our guide told of such rescues. (Watch out for our mini documentary from our visit there)
Snakes, tortoises, chameleons, and even crocodiles!
Go, see, and learn about these reptiles. If you’re squirmish, the place may begin to put you on alert, because once you see the first snakes in their enclosures, every other tree branch begins to look like a snake. Then the moment a leaf or grass touches your foot, the height you will jump will seta few records!
So, best wear closed shoes and trousers, just for your comfort and ease. Otherwise all the animals are within enclosures – you typically have nothing to worry about!
We had a surprisingly loving time there!
